FASHION CLOSETS: TIMO WEILAND

Good evening, my dears!!. How is everything going on?. In less than a week, Easter Holidays are due to start. Until those relaxing days arrive, I want to share with all of you a very special post written for all my masculine readers!. Thanks to The Coveteur, we have the great opportunity to enter the most coveted  closets of the fashion world. Several months ago, I showed you the Canadian jewelry designer Maryam Keyjani´s wardrobe (you can take a look here to read the whole post) and this time we are betting on an American fashion designer born in Nebraska but raised between New York and Florida. He is TIMO WEILAND. Self-taught in terms of couture making and graduated in Economics, Business Management and Spanish Literature; he returned to the skyscrapers´ city after his student period in order to fulfiill one of his biggest dreams: the launch of his own fashion brand together with his partner and friend Alan Eckstein, a young fashion student from the very well-known Fashion Institute of Technology of New York. Welcome to the return of the art of the smart dress-code...

MY STYLE: LITTLE ROCKING HORSE

¡¡Hola a tod@s!!. ¡¡Vuelvo a la carga con nuevo post!!. ¿Dos en una semana?. No me lo creo ni yo... ¡jeje!.

Hi guys!!. How are you doing?. I´m back with a new post!!. Two in a week!! Unbelievable!!. hehe!. Nevertheless, I´m really pleased to hear that most of you fancied the ANTIPAST´s ss 2012 lookbook I showed you a few days ago. And for those who didn´t, I hope to hit on you next time... I know it´s impossible to please everyone, but I think is better that way... If we had all the same tastes, life would be too boring, don´t you think so?

I´d like to welcome this weekend with a spring/autumn look. Or that´s the way I see it... Last Sunday cold and rainy weather in Madrid came back again... So I needed to mix & match different light and rough fabrics + garments. The main stars of today´s look are these floral ankle boots I bought in London before coming back to Spain. I don´t exaggerate if I say that I´ve been after a pair of flower printed Dr. Martens for two years or more. And I finally found them!!!!. I was thrilled!!!. So they were bound to come with me, as well as lots of stuff I bought for the collection of necklaces, brooches and headbands, among others, that i´m creating. As soon as I can, I´ll show it to you. Hope you like it!!.

FASHION DESIGNERS: ANTIPAST SS 2012

Good morning!!. Today I´d like to introduce you to one of my fav Japanese brands which I´m lucky to find at one of my favorite shops in San Sebastian: Rosarito Piropo (whether you have the opportunity to travel to my beautiful city, don´t miss it!, I´m sure you´ll LOVE it!!). Surfing the Net (another fav hobby of mine...), I stumbled across ANTIPAST´s spring/summer 2012 collection. Japanese designers Junko Jinushi and Kyoto Kato are the artists behind this brand who manage to create these amazing beauties full of uniqueness and personality in a globalized world as ours. As they relate in their webpage, the brand name itself has been designed to represent their beliefs and ideas towards the production of their original items which inspires creativity and arouses excitements to the unprecedented value in wearing. A two-way brand-name: on one hand, a small and flavorful morsel to whet one´s appetite for the main course, as Italian tradition remarks; and on the other hand the quality of being "anti-past", striving for newness, creativity and innovation. Do you think they have achieved it?.

PAPER CUT ART: GEORGIA RUSSEL

Good morning!. Have you missed me?. I´m sorry for my absence!. I´ve caught a flu that doesn´t want to go away. It´s been a while since I last showed you my newest discoveries far away from the fashion theme. And this one specifically is one of my favorites: the paper cut art. Works that hide a story behind them, delicate and meticulous cuts which try to decipher what the eye can´t see, complicated and original  shapes that are created as times goes by...GEORGIA RUSSEL is a Scottish artist settled in Paris, whose work of art is based on the dissection of different objects such as books, musical scores, pictures or maps, among others. Her basic tool: a small scalpel and the final result: these precious sculptures which would delight the toughest literary critic and any cozy home.
